Bred by Helen Brunk Greenwalt, Starfire was the Junior Champion Stallion and Reserve Grand Champion Stallion at the Illinois State Fair as a yearling. He was purchased by Ted Davis and went on to sire several Wind-Crest horses as well as the legendary Waseeka's Nocturne.
