Upwey Ben Don was a celebrated performance horse. He captured the 1948 Nationals saddle class, saddle pairs, and harness pairs titles while going reserve in saddle stakes. Ben Don excelled as a sire and was undefeated in the Sire and Get classes from 1953 to 1957. Siring 138 foals including UVM Flash, Kingston, Oldwick Crusader and Donlyn of Windcrest, he is a major influence in contemporary bloodlines. He and full sister Upwey Benn Quietude, along with Upwey Casablanca, formed the nucleus of Wind-Crest farms |
